Childhood is incredible – full of wonder and curiosity and imagination. We can be whatever we want to be. Our lives are so full of potential, limited only by what we can dream up. Likewise, our parents can imagine endlessly of who we will be, the places we will go, the things we will achieve… In fact, it is often our parents and their hopes for us that set us dreaming to begin with. It is the age before the world tells us we can’t, before reality beats us down, before defeats, before we realize that life takes more than dreams. But really, who says this is how reality has to be? Dreaming and fun and imagination never have to end!

This newborn photography shoot was all about capturing that sense of playfulness and imagination. This family is actually a part of my extended family, and I had such fun working closely with Mom implementing her ideas for props to use and themes to capture for these baby boy photos (talk about some great Pinterest ideas!). This little guy’s birth was a headliner for the family, being their second kiddo but the first boy! We commemorated the occasion with a huge calendar showcasing his birth month, as well as a newspaper highlighting the breaking news of this little special addition. The little man wanted in on the fun, staying awake and alert through most of the shoot. He loved snuggling with Mom and Dad and playing along as a special delivery, a precious winter sprite, and a star football player!

The whole family got in on the fun, as the family pup Izzy got in on the action while setting up and Big Sister helped with the decorations. Overall, the whole shoot was filled with a fantastic sense of playfulness and wonder.

As a Timnath newborn photographer, I love being able to work in this community and follow along with friends and family as they grow and change. This little guy is part of my Birth to First photography plan, and I am so excited for the opportunity to cover his 3, 6, 9, and 12 month photo sessions and all the fun and imagination that these shoots will bring!
